Welcome to my page! I’m thrilled that you’re considering working with me. Allow me to introduce myself – my name is Cullen Coughlin, and I have a deep passion for photography and the art of capturing moments that tell compelling stories.
Originally from Haiti, I was adopted into a loving family and grew up in the beautiful city of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Currently, I am based in Minneapolis, where I contribute my skills to a Christian non-profit organization called Pulse. At Pulse, I specialize in social media management and photography, combining my technical expertise with my creative eye to showcase the organization’s mission.
Photography has been an integral part of my life since my high school days. It all began with a class that sparked my love for the craft, and I’ve been captivated ever since. While my journey may have had its twists and turns, including attending Eden Prairie and graduating from Southwest Christian High School, my dedication to photography has remained steadfast.
When it comes to my style and the work I produce, my primary focus lies in editorials and studio photography. I’ve always harbored a dream of shooting freelance for magazines, infusing each image with artistic expression and a unique visual narrative. However, my experience extends beyond these realms. I have successfully captured a diverse array of portraits, including weddings, couples, headshots, and even breathtaking landscapes. My willingness to embrace any photographic challenge thrown my way is rooted in my genuine love for the art form.
Recently, I embarked on an exciting new endeavor called Dark Queens, which marked my first photography installation. This project has allowed me to delve deep into my artistic style, defining and refining my brand. Prior to my time at Pulse, I had been capturing images with minimal creative direction. However, my role as a photographer at the organization enabled me to discover my true creative voice and step into the role of an entire creative director. It has been an exhilarating process, enabling me to express myself in ways I never thought possible.
Dark Queens emerged organically as I sought to enhance my portfolio. As I carefully selected models and developed inspiration for each shoot, a distinct concept took shape. The name Dark Queens instantly came to mind, and it perfectly encapsulates the essence of the series. I invite you to explore this collection, as it holds a special place in my heart. The series embodies the beauty, strength, and allure of its subjects, and I hope it resonates with you as much as it did with me during its creation.
